Luxborough (pop 201)lying beneath Croydon Hill is a scattered village with pub, church and car park. It is a good centre for exploring the forested parts of the Brendon Hills, with walks over the Chargot estate to Kennisham, over Croydon Hill to the deserted village of Clicket, or across the open heaths of Withycombe and Rodhuish Commons.
In the heart of the Brendon
Hills, Luxborough is a large and remote parish divided into 3 hamlets
including the Churchtown with it's ancient church and Kingsbridge where
the unspoilt 18th century Royal Oak Inn is famous for it's real ales.
Lying at 600ft in a valley between Brendon and Croydon Hills, surrounded by woodland. Village divided into three, Kingsbridge,
Pooltown and Churchtown. River Washford rises near village. Pub;
tea room.
Luxborough: Lovely little village (pub well-known for its excellent food, tea room) of cottages, some thatched, in a steep wooded valley. The sea and good beach at Minehead (small resort town), 10 miles, or Dunster, 8 miles.
